It seems that Grégory Baugé is to be given a 1 year retroactive suspension for failing to show for a drugs test plus a couple of other infringements around testing.

This means he will be stripped of his World sprint title, with Jason Kenny getting it, and Chris Hoy being moved up to second.

It's got to be absolutely gutting for Michael D'Almeida and Kevin Sireau, as they will also lose their team sprint medals through no fault of their own. frown

The level of drug testing within cycling is so much higher than in any other sport I know.
Out of competition drug testing can be really tough on riders, having someone knock on your door at 7am demanding you have a pi$$ right there and then. It isn't nice, but it is needed.

I think Cav's missed test was a genuine error and I don't think its a big deal as some (mostly foreign papers) are making it out to be.
