Ever since I've known, I've suffered a form of nocturnal activity while in my sleep and while others tend to find it quite disturbing I've learned accept it and it can be quite funny. It usually gets worse when I'm particularly stressed, tired or more recently drunk. Some of the more humorous incidents have involved:

A full on men in black assault in my bedroom which resulted in my running onto the landing and crouching by the bannister, in my dream I was hidden and they couldn't get me. It was at this point my dad heard me, came out onto the landing and asked what I was doing, to be met with "Shhhhh, they are coming to get me"...this wouldn't of been especially embarrassing except I was stark bk naked.

A really vivid dream of an old american steam train, complete with cow catcher smashing through the wall and into my bed, luckily for me I managed to jump out of bed...but not before I woke the house up shouting something along the lines of, "whoa, whoa whooaaaaa" (brothers account not mine)

Before me and mrs 102 moved in together I would stay at her parents house occasionally. The first time was a bit of a disaster after I woke up in the middle of the night and pulled the covers off her...understandably she asked what the fk I was doing...to which I replied "well you shouldn't be sleeping with other men" before wrapping the duvet around myself and going back to sleep. Needless to say her mum had heard it and did ask what had gone on in the morning.

New years day morning after a bit of beer the night before, I remember the dream as clear as day...I was in a run away car and i HAD to jump out...except there was a wall coming up and If I didn't jump now I would probably hit it......so I did....straight onto the bedroom floor, complete with army roll. Had a bit of a carpet burn the next morning on my knee. Apparently that same night I had also smacked the missus in the back of the head but this tends to be a regular thing.

There are other instances but they are the notable ones, I'm always flinching or lashing out in my sleep and my wife tells me she has had full conversations with me that I simply don't remember (apparently I make more sense when Im asleep lol) luckily I have an understanding wife.

Your stories please.

You are me.

I've slept talked/walked since day dot and it has never let up. As you have said, it gets worse with stress, alchohol, lack of sleep etc.

Some of the things I have done include waking up in the hall (shared between 2 flats), pulling the wife out of bed by her foot - the only way to stop me was for her to kick me in the chest, turning my mates stereo and tv on full blast then rolling over and let him deal with the carnage plus many more...

My favourate is when I wake up, ahem, "on the job"...

My parents tell me when I was young I used to laugh like a madman in my sleep (I turned out alright honest)

Get plenty of very vivid and wierd dreams on a nightly basis, which I think is down to medication. I'll impart anything particularly hilarious tomorrow morning!

Also have been told I tend to er, polish the sabre, while i sleep. I have a feeling we might get a lot of that in this thread hehe

I was staying in a hotel a month or two ago and had a rather weird dream / experience.

I had been woken by the sash window rattling in the wind. I got up, closed the window, took a piss and went back to bed. A short time later I suddenly became aware of a sort of crushing presence and a deafening noise in my room; more like pressure, force or even wind, rather than a person. I was trapped under the duvet and couldn't move. I remember lying there thinking 'just gather all you're energy, focus and push yourself free'. I tried this a number of times, but I couldn't move a muscle.

I don't remember anything after that until I woke the next morning. I got up and ready for work as normal. I was walking to get a coffee with a female friend and was relaying my strange dream. As I was describing being trapped under the duvet, I woke up hanging off the edge of the bed. The sash window was rattling in the wind as it was still open. It was the same time as I had woken in my dream.

Weird eh?

very strange, I was actually prompted by the sleep paralysis thread. I suppose you have all had the falling of a cliff but wake up with a flinch before you hit the bottom dream.

Every couple of months I dream that I'm dreaming.... What I mean by this is I'll have a bad/ odd dream, try to 'wake up' (but not actually wake up) and find it's not a dream (i.e. it appears to me to be actually be happening having checked with myself that I'm not asleep), only to actually wake up (probably moments later in truth but it can feel like hours) to find everything's ok after all!

I've got better at 'managing' this condition in recent years - I'll actually crack on to the fact it's probably a dream and try hard to wake myself up, although sometimes I'll still go through the above 'layers' of consciousness... Over Christmas I even managed to identify I must be dreaming and made an effort not to wake up as I was enjoying the bizarre situation I found myself in...

Friday (but sober) night confession: I appear to be extremely weird! biggrin

My missus once got into my car and tried to drive off. She told me she'd dreamt this however later that morning I went outside and found the radio was on at full blast in the car. There is no way that I would have left it on at that volume as it could be heard all the way down the street so it seems the missus got out of bed, found my car keys, went out of the front door, across the street and into my car. After failing to start it but managing to turn on the radio she got out, locked it, walked back across the street and into the house shutting the door behind her and back to bed. yikes

I've walked around in my sleep for years, it usually involves me getting dressed putting bacon under the grill then going outside for a walk.

My dad used to stop me when I was younger and I only tend to walk around the house these days but I still do it.

It's quite bizarre because I've had terrible insomnia all my life and I'm currently sleeping from 10-3 most days yet I still spend 20 minutes wandering around at 1am.

Me and my sister both used to get night terrors as kids. Usually prompted by stress, sleeping in an unfamiliar place or too much sun.
I used to have the same dream of a horrible face smashing through bricks walls labelled with letter of the alphabet. I'd always think Z would be the end but then it'd simply start again.

At some point I would get up, go to my parents and start talking gibberish. They'd put me in a cold bath if we were on holiday then back to bed. The next day I might have a flash memory of say sitting on the sofa but nothing else.

My sister's ones were always about fire and she'd regularly come downstairs shouting "The house is on fire, get the cats!"

My granddad used to call them the 'screaming abbdabbs' not sure where he got the name from but have a feeling it might be WWII related. Last had it properly when 18 and ill, since then came close on Caribbean holiday due to heatstroke but not full on gibberish thankfully!
