Ignore/Block List

Dear PH

You have built a wonderful forum full of good features and without much of the nonsense associated with many internet communities.

However, I feel that one important feature is missing..

I would like to know if it is at all possible for you to consider implementing an ignore/block feature? Perhaps you could allow members to block selected users posts until they are quoted? I am regular enough here to scan through certain users posts automatically and it would save me, and I am sure many others, a lot of wasted time and internet ink if you where to allow this.

As this is excellently built propitiatory forum software I imagine that it would not be to complicated to implement.

It's been talked about before. They won't implemeant an ignore/block list, as they think it's not in the nature of a forum to have one.

I wouldn't want one, on one thread a poster may be an idiot to the point of irritating yet in another thread they may have useful information yet because of the "block" feature I would miss that post.

It's far quicker just to ignore a post rather than start building a list of people you'd want to ignore.

Just because someone has a different point of view doesnt mean its useful to hide it

I use another forum which has one, and whenever a moron appears I pop them on my list until they get bored or barred. I really like it, and since such people rarely contribute to the sense of a thread you don't miss their posts.

If there was one on here I would fill it with people who post lame "in-jokes". You know the ones I mean.
