Will this do any real damage??
Discussion
Cheers peeps, if blowing a fuse is all that might happen then it's not a problem. It's a works vehicle and I just don't want to get blamed for melting the electrics.

Something like this would be better.
You could fix the socket end under the dashboard and there'd be no strain on the plug

I agree, the problem is we move from van to van so attaching it isn't really an option. You could fix the socket end under the dashboard and there'd be no strain on the plug

Depends on the loads going through it, worst case it will blow the fuse.
electrically yes load dependant - most sockets are protected by a 10 a fuse so 120 -130 watts should be okmechanically it's going to be straining the springy bits somewhere along the line, - surely as have been suggested a three or four socket 'bar' would be better

Think the sockets are rated at 3A. Simple to work out how much current you are drawing.
There should be a fuse in the first socket.
more like 10a - especially as the 'none lighter' sockets increasingly fitted to a lot of cars ( with a lighter and ashtray an extra cost option) often have 120 w max printed on the cap There should be a fuse in the first socket.
