Despite graduating to more exotic cars,I still rate some of my best motoring experiences
as an 18year old driving the back lanes of east Sussex in my .
Sitting inches of the ground, wind in the hair, smelling the burning castrol gtx that was always
leaking,I felt like a driving god, even though I probably never exceeded the speed limits..

Love that, very natty, a proper sports car.
its amazing, your so involved, heavy pedals, heavy steering, and LOUD! sitting lower than wing mirror height, looking between the lights, 30MPH feels more like 65! its the opposite to everything i hate about every modern car i have ever driven...
cant wait till i pass my test aha

tidyish, not much filler, and drives well, although possible head gasket issues...
should I mention its my first car....
Brilliant first car..!! And if you end up having to spend some time on its maintenance you'll become as mental about cars as me, no doubt. Nice one..!!tidyish, not much filler, and drives well, although possible head gasket issues...

Watch out for the rear wheels tucking under, causing overstear at the limit.
I don't think that's fair with the Mark 4. I've had lots of swing axle Triumphs, but my mate's Mk4 Spit showed none of that at all AND was standard. You could rag it around corners with no regard for the back end at all, more so than my Midget, that's for sure. Now my Vitesse...that's another story!!
