Take a look guys:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

I love the way he says 'No time wasters', he advertises a car he's selling for £4,000 (highly optimistically), for £400, and then puts at the end of a very long advert the real price. Wouldn't it be a shame if people DID waste his time. Might encourage him to advertise his car at the correct price instead of being a cheapskate git and trying to get the bargain cars rate on auto trader!

People don't read ads properly at the best of times. He's probably been on the phone all day telling people the price is wrong and being called a .

What a pillock, abusing the search criteria and overpricing it by twice what its worth.

No time wasters he says, yet seller chooses to waste other people's time. Brilliant..

What an idiot. Plus the sport model never had those wheels, they were discontinued on the E39 in 2000 and were SE spec, I should know, my 1999 528 has them as standard! The 535 is typically cheap as it's got the performance of the straight 6 3.0 with the economy of the 540. £2500 is more realistic.

It actually reads that he wants 4000, so 4000? tomatoes, monkeys (no that would be a lot), what a tosser.

£400 is closer than £4000 to most other e39 5-series with similar miles on them, £1500-2000 seems the going rate...

It costs less to list a sub £1k car. Anyone that tight will not have a car worth buying.

They are becoming serious bargains, I only paid £3400 for mine in 2008! That would get you a lovely sport nowadays.

I'm not sure it's the cost of the ad, but the fact that it will likely appear first in the search results that is the driver in this sort of practice. Still a ttty thing to do though, and would make me ignore the car on principle.

Wouldnt bother on principle as it smacks of cock, advertise it with good pictures, an accurate description and a realistic price and the car will sell itself, revert to tricks and I move to the next one as it shouts desperation.

It's got shadowline trim, sports seats and wheel and looks slightly slammed so I reckon it's a real sport. But...it's got drug dealer glass.

The x35 Beamers are a bit of a mystery as to why they exist, as stated above, the performance of the lower model but the mpg (or actually worse in some cases like with the E38's) of the higher x40 models.

It is a V8 though, so that's a tick in the box I suppose.
