Dear All,
While enjoying a nice quiet drive back home, and coming out of a roundabout, got the engine (on the Accord 2.4) to near the red line (yes, iVtec kicked in yo) and then joy of joys, I couldn't engage any of the gears. Coasted onto the hard shoulder and just couldn't make the gears engage, so after some time thought may be the clutch, and turned the engine off and engaged gear and managed to drive it home on 3rd gear. Now here is the problem:
1. What do you think might be the problem? Do you think the clutch is gone? How much is this going to cost me frown
2. I managed to use gravity assistance to park the car in my under-croft space, how do I get it to the garage, get AA to recover it?? If so how best to get such a large car out without clutch (tight access space and gradient)?

Monday is going to be busy and expensive by the looks of things, not happy :S

Thanks All

Hydraulic aren't they? If the clutch was working ok before hand it may not be the clutch itself, maybe a fluid leak, (have you checked the fluid level?) Maybe the hydraulic release bearing, numerous other things.

if the gearstick wouldn't go into any gears it may be the linkages perhaps
if the clutch pedal showed no resistance? most likely release bearing or a fluid leak.

doh, didn't see post above.

I don't know the specifics of the Honda, but if it drove home without slipping sounds like the clutch is ok. What does the clutch pedal feel like ... If no feel or needs pumping I
Would suspect master or slave cylinders, which could be an easy fix.

Thank you all,
I checked the clutch fluid it is full.
Clutch pedal resistance seems fine
All the gears engage fine with engine off, so I doubt selector fork or cables

Looks like it may be the clutch, is this a spring failure?

Thanks all for the support.

What sort of recovery vehicle should I ask for, needs lifting front wheels off?
