Hi all, posting this on behalf of friend who's a 350 driver (i'm a chim driver myself)
He took his 350 to XXXXXXXXXX TVR at XXXXXXXXXXXX at the beginning of May for a sevice, as at today they have still not finished the work, we've been back to them twice to collect (they had confirmed ready on telephone) only to get there and something either wasn't done at all or not done properly, only on the second occasion of them messing us about has he got a courtesy car. Should be ready this week, but they really have been a catalog of errors - eg under bonnet heat sheild had to be refixed on, got there, lifted bonnet, it fell straight off - the look of horror on the fella serving us was almost worth the trouble!
In the meantime I had a prang in my chim the week before, it's been to TVRbodyshop.com, got a whole new front end and h/l conversion and is ready this week, I had a shedload of work - he had a service and my car will be ready first - how bad is that!
Just a word of warning really cause they seem to know nothing about wedges, god knows if they are any good on the newer models, i'm not prepared to test them after this!

Not sure who Ted is, but the only thing I can find in the T&Cs is this:-
Members must not "Post or transmit any content that is abusive, vulgar, obscene, hateful, fraudulent, unlawful, threatening, harassing, or defamatory or which discloses private or personal matters concerning any person;"
So maybe it could be considered 'defamatory'...???

However, from what I can see the TVRwedgepages site is owned by Mike B.
Also, a disclaimer that views expressed on the site are not (necessarily) those of the owners of the site, and that the owners have no control over the placing of such views would normally be sufficient to offer protection in law.
In addition, as the internet is now seen as being an animal that has developed very much by itself, site owners are generally not held responsible for statements posted on their sites as they have NOT actually published them themselves.
Someone who owns a wall cannot be held responsible for what is scrawled upon it.
I do accept that there are grey areas and some of your views may differ.
Back to garages -
Garages/workshops/engineers survive on their reputations, so it is that it is up to them to make sure that the quality of their work is up to standard. Just as clients may praise them for the quality of the work so too should clients broadcast their shortcomings.
From a legal point of view I believe it is sufficient to preface a statement with the phrase "it is in the public interest".
Even without such a preface I would consider it reasonable and fair in law simply to post the facts identifying the establishment without proferring an opinion - such as the report at the top of this thread. I believe a number of reports regarding one or two named establishments have been made in this way.
Certainly care should be taken in the choice of words employed, but the world would be a far better place if we could all honestly and quite bluntly state out opinions!

And the Forum on that site is a link to Pistonheads.com and messages posted on there has a pistonheads.com link to it so any come back from legal people will go to PH not the Wedgepages,
