tram is outside Tetre Rouge. Le Mans centre is the place to be.

Yeah easy for the tram, and best no hassle way into town. Forget drinking and driving and the parking issues. Get off in the centre of town at République. Cross over walk across by Mc Do, walk down 'Rue du Port', for plenty of bars, and discos. Loads of kebabs too. Le Mans Legend restaurant is there, if you fancy steak & chips while looking at bits of old car stuck on the walls. Or turn left and go up 'Rue de Docteur Leroy', for loads more bars and restaurants, eventually leading onto Mulligans at the end. Always a laugh to watch idiots in cars trying to drive through, while people plonk as many empty plastic beer glasses on the car roof!! Can get hectic especially if a game of footie is on.

Get the afore mentioned tram and if you can earlyish too, Drivers n car parade thru the centre. Its rammed, but dont go in your car. you`ll be stuffed for comin back as the roads get jammed. Very interesting viewing thou.

Nice one, is the camp site open on the monday? We normally turn up on wednesday but decided to make a week of it this year.

It's usually open Monday morning (certainly for the last 4 years) - we normally get there between 9 and 10 and they're already open.

Good plan. We'll be pitched adjacent to the high wall that runs along the roadside of MB - I'll let you know the pitch numbers once I've got them from Brian, and you're very welcome to join us for a cold one or two.

Best,

Fraser.

Last tram back to circuit on the Friday night is usually about 1am. Maybe one or to a few minutes later than that but you might be risking it leaving it any later and I'm sure they run all night during the race.

Just checked 2010 timetable I had downloaded and it was 1.07am from Republique or 1.08am from prefecture (So if your in the Irish bar and cutting it a bit fine turn right when you come out front door and run to end of street, Tram stop is across the 1st little road straight in front of you. The tram you'll need to get back to circuit is this side of the tracks - Not that I've ever had to run for last tram;))

Any recommendations of good restaurants in the town centre on Friday, steak and chips sort of food?
