Every day I have to drive up the sort of road where there's (poorly maintained) speed 'cushions'; a few potholes / cracks in road; sporadically parked cars all the way up it;

It's quite busy around rush hours, so as you go along it you have to frequently give way to oncoming traffic in order to 'ease' the journey for all concerned, because of the number of parked cars that are quite often opposite each other (so only one vehicle can pass). In other words, you plan ahead slightly and sometimes you let the ones coming towards you go, or they let you and the couple of cars behind you go.

It can work smoothly, occasionally there is total grid-lock when two or more numpties clog everything up, and then extra 'entrants' to the zone compound the problem cos no-one can reverse.

Anyway, I'm finding more and more that many drivers can hardly be arsed to turn their fking steering wheel as they approach mad So you do the right thing and stay left as you approach parked cars to make it easy for the oncoming car to make progress, and to reciprocate you perhaps require them to steer (their) left to go back into their lane (from the middle of the road) also make it easy for you. (All this depends on the many variables of the parked cars / distances etc).

So it's hard to describe, but basically I'm always fairly chilled and would rather help the road run smoothly since it's best for all concerned. But these motherfkers steam right through and can't even do the right thing when necessary cos they're too fking lazy to move their wheel furious I've really noticed it more & more, and I'm sure it's pure can't-be-botheredness. Even with bloody power steering and eveything.

I despair.

Or I might join them, and just turn into an ignoramus who blindly drives straight thorugh even if it creates more problems for all concerned, including myself.

And they don't wave any thanks shoot

Give them the finger as they go past.

It sometimes shocks them into doing something - sometimes thats murdering you.

Lifes a gamble eh!

I've experienced exactly the same behaviour as the OP on my commute.

It's either that, or people who tuck themselves ridiculously close up behind a parked car. Usually they are so close, they have to effectively turn at 90 degrees well into the opposing lane, in order to pull out (having waited 5 minutes for a suitable gap). Typically made all the more irritating by the fact the gap was sufficient for two cars to pass had their road position been correct!

Yes, see this steering inability a lot.
Pathetic.

I really think it's getting worse. Which due to virtually every car now having power steering is a bit perverse really confused

Perhaps it's not so much laziness, but they are positioning their vehicle in such a way as to say 'PULL IN AND WAIT, I'M COMING THROUGH AND NOT PULLING OVER FOR YOU!'.

Silly people.

I don't stop if the cars are their side of the road (my right of way), unless they are already moving before i got there or they look stupid, or it's dangerous for my own safety!

I had a driving instructer, roof cone and all, with a pupil in the passenger seat actually do this, so i carried on and he had to make a sharp stop. He put both his hands up in anger at me, i simply pointed to the cars on his side of the road and shoke my head, and then he tutted and reversed 3 car lengths - he knew he was in the wrong, and just chanced it.

I think many people do that, and try to imidate others, so just stick to your ground if safe to do so.
