Ok so I have decided the C63 coupe is something I need in my life by summer time. Mercedes currently have this deal on for brand new ones if ordered before end of March and delivered before end of June:

http://www2.mercedes-benz.co.uk/content/unitedking...

What I want to know before I call my dealer is if it would make sense to wait until June/July and pick up a used example from a dealer or if this offer is good enough to justify buying new?

The finance works out to be 600x36 plus 6k upfront = £27600 and hand car back or make final payment to purchase. Do they offer this type of finance with a baloon payment at the end with used cars too? Would I actually save any money over the 3 years financing a used example?

If not then I guess buying new is the way forward.

with the offers on at the moment its a no brainer to take the new one to your own personel spec. when you buy a used one i think you will pay more in interest rate.
what spec you going for?

I like this car. Drove a pearlescent white coupe the other week. Much improved quality/revamp. Sounds glorious. Very comfortable. I'd certainly have one!

re new or used? Hard to say really as it's so new atm. Used cars will always be cheaper, so long as there is a supply. I think July is too soon though to see used cars below £50k(?) That offer does seem very tempting. £765 a month it will cost you (including your deposit), as i doubt very much you'll have equity in it come resale.

It's a good contribution and fiance rate for a new model.

Unfortunately for me, i don't hold my cars long enough, otherwise i would look very closely at a deal like this. In fact, i would probably have a call round a few dealers first and see if you can chip them further on the list price. Finance will probably be the same, but i would imagine you could bag a further discount if you show a few dealers you are *genuinely* interested.

The other issue for me, is i would HAVE to have the ppp on it biggrin

If you're happy with £765 a month.... what a car!

Well to be honest the coupe has pretty good spec in standard form but heres what I I'd be after:

black 19s
HK audio upgrade
LSD

Also considering PPP but still thinking as its quite a costly option. I think I probably will bite the bullet and tick that box if I buy new because otherwise I'd end up looking at aftermarket power upgrades with that LSD in place.

Have never driven a 63 engine merc, only driven my brothers SL55 which is quite simply an animal. I'm sold on a c63 without even a test drive!

Heres my plan, the offer states you need to order before end of March, I will get in touch with my dealer nearer the middle to end of March and see if I can blag some more discount off that deal. I'm sure it's possible because this is an advertised deal so there must be some room for negotiation. Plus the lease on my current car ends in July so an end of June delivery would be perfect for me. I am looking to put more like £20k deposit down so based on this deals rate my payments would be more like £200 pm. Hopefully they allow a larger deposit on this deal.

Any other options I should seriously consider? I wonder how it works with options on this deal, do they just slap all options on the deposit amount or do you only pay part of the cost of options over the 3 years?

Pretty excited about owning my first AMG. I'm even looking forward to 12mpg!

£600 a month is for a basic car with no options. That monthly rate quickly racks up with a few ticks on the option list.

I ordered my C63 Coupe before Christmas for March delivery but have now been told it won't be ready until May due to Carbon fibre shortages at the factory!

All of the cars on the Market at the moment are all ex demomstraters and exactly the same spec but still demanding list price due to some production delays at the factory.

I'd say you're better off buying an as new demo car unless you don't mind waiting. As for discounts, 4-5% seems to be the ball park at the moment.

I'll PM you some details if you're interested.

Am i missing something, or are the demo cars more expensive than a new car offered at just less than £50k?

A new car is £60k +

At the moment a lot of these demo cars are listed at list price even though 6 months old and 5k miles.

If you look at the link in the OP re Mercedes offers, a new C63 coupe has a 'retailer contribution' (discount) of £7131.16. So if i'm correct, a BRAND NEW C63 can be bought for £50k *and* financed with LOW RATE finance with a £5995 deposit.

That's the way i read it anyhow

Nop, why?

Deposit contribution isn't discount off the list price, it's a contribution to the finance deal which is different I'd assume.

I'm not purchasing on this deal anyways.
