I am organising a trip to Monaco for the Grand Prix this year and I am trying to find companies that can transport our cars back from Monaco to England.

I did this trip last year with 30 of my mates (15 cars) to celebrate my birthday and the drive back with monster hangovers was not that great (no matter how nice the car).

I seem to remember reading an article in a car magazine about companies that carried out this service, but cannot remember when or where.

If someone out there has used a company and can recommend them, please let me know.
Thanks

There's Polygon Transport, Car Transport Europe, Transcars Ltd, carseurope.net, ACH Transport, G&S Classic Services and J.S.D. Services to name a few.

Out of curiosity how long was the trip there, and where di you stay?

We did the journey down over two days as we wanted to drive via the Route Nap. The trip back was done in one go (except for fuel stops) and took about 8.5 hours to Calais.

May be a daft question but are there camp sites for Monaco spectators or do the majority stay in hotels!?

I think there are Camp sites, although I have not done so myself.

Monaco is actually a very small place (you can walk from one end to another in ten to fifteen mins) so any camp sites will be in the surrounding areas (it is difficult to tell if you are in Monaco or not when you are walking through).

Tickets for the race on the Grandstands seats are actually cheaper than tickets for the British Grand Prix. Well worth a visit.

The publication you were referring to was EVO with a supplement titled Great Escapes' in early 2011. I will try & mail you a copy of the relevant page you were after....it was written by Harry Metcalf who has obviously had 'the need'.

Have you got any poor mates!?

Tell them to get themselves down to Nice and they can drive your car all the way back home for you - for free smile All they have to do is pay for the fuel.

Job jobbed.

I'm not so sure I would let any of my mates drive my car 800 miles without me! I value my clutch! smile

MrC986 kindly has sent me a copy of the EVO article (thank you) so I think we will explore that idea first.

We will see how much it cost.

If we cant get good quotes, we will look at the other option of simply flying there and back (but where is the fun in that!).

Hi - Are you looking to get your car recovered or the whole group. If it is just a single car we may be able to help. We have a fully enclosed transporter trailer.
