B&O Play is finally arriving and being rolled out ( I understand they have been talking about it for a while now...) Not sure what I make of their latest product the video demonstrates.. Part of me feels it has a high risk of becoming too mainstream and less exclusive only time will tell. Whats everyone else's views? smile

I have no sound at work. Is it just a cheap version of other stuff they do?

They have noticed that sonos are selling for good money and want a piece of the action it would seem.

I think it is a good move.

If people purchase products from the 'Play' range and are suitably impressed, when they have a few more £££ in the bank they may well upgrade.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of everything that B&O do and a little more exposure to the main stream market will help them no end.

Does anybody have any more information as to other products due to be released in the 'play' range?

Should be able to post some more by the end of next week, I used to work for the company when i was a teenager while at college as a friend of the family owned a franchise... They have a meeting with one of the chaps from head office early next week and will tell me the outcomes... should be interesting. Im a big fan of everything B&O and have built up a bit of a collection myself now but im just scared it will start becoming too mainstream which in my mind will remove some of the exclusivity.....

I quite like the B&O Play/ Beolit 12. I have a Beosound 8 (the iPod/ iPad/ iPhone dock) for non B&O fans and it is superb. Would I use the Beolit 12, probably not but it would be fab in the garden so might buy one at some point but not desperate.

Let's put this into perspective, the portable speaker is £699 that's not cheap!

It's not that expensive either if the sound is as good as someone I spoke to who has heard it, says it is.

If you don't like it you will be able to sell it for near enough what you paid for it. B& O stuff has exceptionally good resale values which often get overlooked when people talk about price.

£699 isn't expensive at all for such a high end quality product... I think its a superb deal i just hope they dont become too commercialized and start doing cheaper products and keep it so thats the cheapest in the range of products they are set to launch....
