Join us at the PistonHeads Supercar Paddock

Visiting the Performance Car Show this week? Come and see us on the PistonHeads stand!

PistonHeads will be hosting a Supercar Paddock at the 2012 Performance Car Show adjoining Autosport International at the NEC from January 12-15, and in addition to the draw of meeting some of the PH team we also have some rather fine metal on display too.

Lined up around the PH Chesterfield sofas (yes, really) will be some of the finest supercars in existence, as if the free internet, comfy sofas and, er, honour of meeting Riggers weren't already enough to tempt you.

We will have the following on display for your viewing pleasure:

The show boasts exhibits from the likes of Ariel, Noble and Porsche to name just a few and once you're done wandering the halls make sure you come and say hello to the PH team too. We'll be on hand throughout and we'll have computers hooked up to the site so you don't have to suffer withdrawal from posting on the forums or browsing the classifieds.

Ticket and show information can be found here and all visitors to show get free access to Autosport International as well as a seat in the Live Action Arena, the UK's largest indoor race track, where race and stunt drivers show off their skills in some of the fastest and most expensive cars around.

We look forward to seeing you there.

I might do the 2013 PH show instead of the NEC this year.

I love the fact that
a) the GT-R is now considered a supercar
b) it is the cheapest car there
c) it is the fastest accelerating and one of the quickest around most tracks

Great. I really want to see the MP4-12C and the Bac Mono is exactly what I want first in my Euromillions Garage.

I need a new lid for racing this year and will start by getting a quick fix in the first Action Arena on sat.

How come i've only just heard of this now? lol
You say 12-15th. Will there be the same cars Friday as there will be Saturday?
I'm going away next week so trying to justify spending £100+ to come down.

Can someone just confirm, it's £30 to get into the show, but is it another £30 to get into the Pistonheads bit? :O

Do you need to buy your tickets online?

No, the one entrance ticket gets you into the PH bit and the Autosport bit, no need to buy two separate.

I haven't been yet this year (will on Sunday) but it's a separate section normally but you just walk back and forward easily between the two

Great, I've never been to an autosport show, so would like to come down on Sunday, so I can buy tickets on the door yes?

I assume so, but don't know - do double check the website as I'm sure that will say. Normally you get money off for pre-booking online anyway I think

Come on now, £30? Who ever pays full price....

This will get you 2-4-1 tickets if you buy online. Obviously means you need to have a mate to go along with.

Well I have to say the PH bit was a bit naff wasn't it?

3 sofa's and a load of cars you can't get near?

I think I spotted each of the cars elsewhere at the show that you could also sit in and chat to people about while doing so... rather than penned in versions which made photography difficult.
Ie, new M5 on the BMW stand, you could climb all over it for all intents and purposes, and it looked shinier hehe

Sorry to say it but considering how PH is the bastion of online petrolheadness, it's not so good at the real life part. I'd like to think you could have done something much better.

So, join you at the PH Supercar Paddock. I did, and there didn't seem to be much happening frown

I have to say that, while the stands looked good and the cars were nicely spread out, I kind of agree with the above. Couldn't get into the cars, and it was a 24-carat pain in the arse trying to get decent clear shots of them too.

I did, however, quite like the selection of cars. Most weren't to be found elsewhere and if they were, they weren't manufacturer-original like the ones in the PH section.

I have to say I was really looking forward to Autosport and in particular the Pistonheads part of the show. What a let down compared to the last time I went when PH had loads of cars ( I assume they were members cars) form Mini's to Lambos all nicley diplayed and a stand you could buy stuff from. This year was very poor really disapointed I wanted to get a couple of smileys for my cars but couldn't.

Autosport itself was a disapoinment too non oof the rally teams were there (well I never saw them!)

One to miss in the furture I think (sadly)
