Jag Air flow meter
Discussion
Another question, has anyone got pictures of how their jag airflow meter has been attached to the wing, as just been fitting mine this afternoon in readiness for major transplant over winter, and the mounting plate is different from the Rover item.
Have so far tie wrapped from new plate to old plate until I can fabricate some sort of adapter bracket, but wondering ho anyone else has fiited this upgrade

Sorry about the delay, anyway this is the original bracket used to mount the AFM on the Jag...
... and this is the one I fabricated, which mounts to the rubbers already fitted to the TVR bracket...
It loooks a lot like the one on Neil's SEAC, but as far as I can tell, his is in one piece and not two. Also mine isn't rusty
I must get round to drilling a hole for the idle air adjust

Would that be on the collar next to the AFM? And is that in addition to the one on the plenum or instead!
Interesting.
No... it's in the rear LH corner of the AFM, but the bracket obscures it. The alloy collar is to reduce the 80mm outlet to the 70mm air hose.
The adjustment on the plenum is the idle speed; the one on the AFM is for idle air bypass (sets base CO).

Is there a big difference to a Jag AFM as opposed to a Rover based AFM?
Oops sorry Andy, missed this one
Er, I am struggling to say that there's a huge improvement ON MY CAR. That's not to say that a huge improvement can't be made, I just don't think I've made one. It may be that the fuel pressure needs winding up to make better use of the extra air available. Alas rolling roads are in short supply up here...

Thanks for the pictures , that was how I was going to do it but was worried about the adjustment screw.
Mine is just a bracket at the other end so it's a bit flexible
Do you not have a biger plenum chamber and hence the adjuster on the hose ?
Errr.... no. The 390SE uses bog-standard 3.5L injection parts. So the hose from the AFM to the throttle is 70mm bore. The Jag AFM is 80mm bore outlet, but the Jag used a different hose arrangement anyway, with a cast alloy 90 degree elbow! Rather than look for a hose that was 70mm at one end and 80mm at the other, and bearing in mind it was supposed to be a cost-effective mod so having one made wasn't an option, I just turned a large piece of alloy down into a reducer.
Thing is, after all that, although I can say the car's response is different, I can't honestly say it's better or faster, which suggests some setting-up needs doing that I haven't got to grips with yet.
