Can anyone tell me where the external temperature sensor is on a V8V? There's a long thin object just behind the radiator grille near the top which is the only likely looking thing I can see! I'd like to check out connections etc before I book it in to a dealer, as they're a three hour round trip away so don't want to waste a day if it's somethign simple.

The outside temp has started reading 70-80 C now, which is really stuffing up the climate control!

Known problem, and easily fixed under warranty (mine was) so I wouldn't spend too much time fiddling about. Anything else need doing while they're at it ?? Your fuel cap opening ok or is it a bit sticky ??

You are looking in the correct location smile

Thanks Jockman.

I've intermittent illumination on the cruise control "CAN" button but that's about it really!

Guess I'll need to get it booked in and arrange a day off work, then, as if I'm loking at the right thing it's still connected and in situ, so must be the faulty sensor issue. Can't go through the winter months with a choice of sitting in an Aston Martin fridge or a sauna!

Sorry if I am being dumb but what difference does the outside temp sensor make to your car? From your message you seem to be implying that it self adjusts the interior temp.......if that's the case, which car do you have and do they all do that? I've not seen it on my V8V Roadster and can't see that I would want it but it sounds cool (or warm depending on the outside temp of course!) :-)

Ambient (external) air temperature sensor tells the Climate Control what the outside temperature is so that it can anticipate what to do to control the cabin temperature. Hence it blows cold air in because it thinks it is 70-80 C outside.

In the mean time set the cabin temp to max "Hi" and manually adjust the fan speed down to control cabin temp.

You are under the original warranty ???

They will collect the car from your house and return it, usually washed.

The only cost to you is the fuel smile

Mine was supposed to have been fixed, but still does this. I'll get it sorted when they change the wheels in March.
