Someone had lost the circlips on my pedals and then used masking tape to stop the pins coming out. Tape wore through and the pin came out, no braking
I played with the linkage and agree with you, I also tried playing with the front mounting as well. Much better feel.

One of my pedals had masking tape over the ends of the pins from the factory (I assume so as it hadn't been serviced anywhere else before I bought it).(You going to Autosport?)
