Couldn't find a post relating to this - so here we go...
A friend of mine very nearly had his C5 stolen
How ?
Some BA$TARD made a note of his vin, applied for a log book from the DVLA then went to Old Car World for a "spare" key. It was only the quick thinking of one of the staff (who knew the car and it's owner) did he overt the theft.
It was close, the key was already for collection - had he been off that day, or served by a different person a silver C5 would be on the next container to the continent !!!
P.S. this goes for all late model GM vehicles. Just hide the vin with a piece of paper. I guess a key could have been ordered from the likes of Buaer Millett and other North American dealers in the UK ! TOO EASY
