Trying to round up all the bits and pieces I need to upgrade/improve on the dismal sound in my car.

Have possibly found an amplifier that might do the trick...it's described as "dual mono" Will that be suitable for driving a 3 way component speaker system?

I think (if I understand hubby) that as it needs 2 power supplies it's effectively an amp each for left and right speakers.

On a steep learning curve - again!

Thanks

Yes - and chances are it's the Genesis Dual Mono, which is just about the best 'un on this planet (don't know any others that go by the 'dual mono' moniker - beare for cheap cast-offs tho').

I have a couple of Genesis amps in my old runabout. Good enough to shake the numberplate clean off

Jackie, can't remember whether you have the sound pack or not. If you have then that amp is a 6 channel one on 2003 onwards (not sure pre facelift), driving tweeters (top of dash), mid range (top of dash again) and bass (door mouldings) separately. Basically the amp is also doing the job of the crossover you have in your component set, so you only need to use the speakers themselves.

Two channel amp will be fine, but in this configuration you'll need to use the crossovers to direct the right frequencies to the correct speakers
