NCP car park damage
Discussion
Has anyone managed to get any money out of NCP when their car was damaged in one of their car parks?
They claim that cars are parked at the owner's risk and they have no responsibility for my car. It was damaged at Birmingham Aiport NCP.
They say thay have no CC TV footage from when the car was parked but can see it entering and leaving the car park. Basically they will do nothing not even refund the cost of the parking.
Am I wasting my time chasing them or do they ultimately have a duty of care irrespective of their disclaimers?
Any advice, especially from someone with a legal background would be gratefully appreciated.

Not much info about it though, it could be worth a read, but Google as just thrown this up, its a pdf downloaded from here:

page 11 - 4th para:
"Example: a member of the public requests CCTV footage of a car park, which shows their car
being damaged. They say they need it so that they or their insurance company can take legal
action. You should consider whether their request is genuine and whether there is any risk to the
safety of other people involved."

Ye of little faith. With a bit of persistence and with the help of NCP I now have the insurance details of the car that hit me . Don't take no for an answer........
The problem is you said you were going to claim off NCP, which wasn't happening.Congratulations, persistance is often the key to such matters

NCP tend not to have any cctv footage inside their car parks because their equipment is old and in most cases broken. NCP also don't own any of their car parks, the Airport ones they just operate for the airport owners and the town centre locations are all on a sale and lease back.
The CCTV footage they have is at the entrance and exit of the car parks and at the POF machines to stop fraud and damage. NCP has no money and from my experience have no interest in security messures for cars on their sites.
The glass would have been cleaned up as its part of their H&S requirment and also should have put a note on your car to tll you of the damage they have seen. In no way are they responsible for the damage your car has suffered however

t as life's too short but for £500 of damage I thought it pointless to just roll over.
