ABS warning light is failing to extinguish after 5 -10 seconds, although intermittently and for no obvious apparent reason will go out, but then lights up again.

I have attempted to carry out a diagnostic test, by separating the relay switch and bridging across pins 4 & 15 on the ABS diagnostic connector, as per link below.

The code that I am getting, reading is 2-3, which does not appear on my list of Landrover Fault Codes, is there such a code, and apart from cleaning and refitting wheel sensors, is there any other obvious faults I can look for.

The last time this vehicle was garaged was for an electrical starting problem, the final bill being nearly 950.00, so whilst believing this problem may stem from that repair, I am loath, through the aged, value of the vehicle, to resubmit the vehicle to the same garage.

It sounds like one of your abs sensors is damaged or just dirty so Best thing to do is take it to a garage and get them to diagnose the abs systerm to tell you which sensor is faulty. My local garage charges £30 to do this so dont pay to much more than that to have it done. Sensors are not to dear on ebay and will take no more than 2hrs to fit.

Get the code read firstly.
the sensors are the same as fitted to lorries wabco IIRC
far cheaper from Truck supplies and a piece of cake to change.
you can just make sure they are seated fully
especially the front ones in the top of the swivel housings.
were are you located? so we can point you to a friendly independent.
