Throttle Cable Replacement

Hi guys - having decided to treat my V8S to a New Years present of a replacement throttle cable assembly (inner and outer), I contacted Clever Trevor and was told that they thought that a Chim/Griff one was a suitable replacement. I've looked on several sites but been unable to confirm this - can anyone clarify the situation for me. Thanks for any assistance .... Chris

The engine end is certainly the same. I don't recall what the Griff/Chim pedal attachment is, but on the V8S there's a sleeve on the inner which presses into a keyhole slot at the top if the pedal.

Whatever you do, keep the old cable (even if it breaks). The inner tends to fail where the end of the sleeve forces it to kink when the throttle is closed. By flaring the inside of the sleeve so that the inner can follow a gradual curve you can increase the life expectancy dramatically. Also, fit a throttle stop. It's very easy to do using standard 'towel rail' type fittings and will prevent you from trying to stretch the throttle cable at full throttle. It took a couple of inches of travel out of the pedal on mine when I fitted it - that is how much I'd been stretching the cable in the heat of the moment.
