Le Mans Convoy?

We've been to the last 3 Le mans races and had a great time but we think we may be missing out on the run down, any convoys or pre arranged stopovers?

Given that Jean Claude and his friends in blue are making it more and more difficult to drive down in "spirited" fashion it could be that convoys will become more common in the future.

In our experience there is more of a group feeling on the way back on Monday. We all go down at such different times in the preceding week (and we want to get there in order to stake our claim to a decent pitch)that our group of 5-6 cars has never really joined up with any others over the past 6 years we've been going.

This year we've got roughly 15 cars in the group (mainly Renaultsport Megane's / Clio's)

There are four sub £500 Clio's chasing to the TL site on the Wednesday night from Portsmouth, will we make it? Great gang of loopily quick cars last year but by behaving ourselves, the fastest car down there was a Range Rover with a trailer so time to add some sort of challenge to the trip!

Shame i reckon you will be leaving a bit later than us as i believe we will be leaving in the daytime but haven't the exact times yet so not sure so could be a shout but doubtful... what cars are in your group anyways?

Too fast for us, we've set a limit of 1400cc although the 1200 appears to be the weapon of choice

Except we are doing the Tunnel, not Portsmouth

You can add a skyline to that list Brian. The clio is to loud and thirsty for this drive

Top tip for anyone organising a convoy - we had orange sunstrips the other year which made it incredibly easy to spot the other cars in your convoy that are behind you, even in traffic.

We are travelling to Caen on the 22.45 crossing

Were starting in Yorkshire, picking up two cars in Nottingham then to Portsmouth for 2045 overnight to st malo. Driving capri280turbo, Caterham r300 and a hawk cobra probably stickers as Sherwood Racing.
