I have just received my Insurance renewel quote, £815!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously Aviva do not wish to insure TVR's anymore. It's almost twice last years premium. Anyone else experiencing big hikes?

Nope - mine actually went down by £25 this year, £428, 10 years protected NCB, 36 years old, garaged for social use only, 7500 miles PA in a PE19 postcode. That was with MSM who have been fantastic to deal with over the last 4 years.

Aviva/ Elephant have done this to me other cars before, it's their scam to get the renewers who don't switch. Switching is easy smile

Mine has gone down every year for the past 5 years, no change when I told them it had gone from a 3.6 to a 4.5 (Classicline)

MSM were brilliant, renewal was 19 quid more and had agreed valuation move from 15k to 17k with all the stuff changed on my Tamora, plus they are very nice real direct dial type people.

Thanks guys, getting quotes from all the above. I've just tried Admiral, they want £752eek The biggest surprise of the night is Direct Line, their online quote just came out at £387.42 which includes an introductory 20% discount. I don't think i'm going to look any furthersmile

WHAT! I must live in a dangerous post code. I'm with Admiral who quoted me a similar price. Performance Direct were slightly cheaper with slightly less cover so I stuck with renewing with Admiral. The only other quote which was significantly cheaper was QuoteMeHappy which was £650 but their exclusion clauses means they don't cover for you for much at all. All the other quotes I got were over a grand. Even Direct Line quoted me about £1200.

I'm with MSM and pretty sure they don't do agreed valuations. They ask for the vehicles value but it doesn't mean you'll get that if the worst were to happen.

I could be wrong?

I thought the same - enquired about agreed value in November when I renewed but they told me they don't offer it confused

Me too, that's why I was pretty sure. Depends on the policy though I expect, mine is on a kitcar policy.

They recently (ish) changed underwriters at MSM, which may explain things.

I would second that, Matt is great to deal with and have just renewed my insurance with him, and not much different to last year.
