I don't have a Porsche but I paid £260 for our local specialists (SEM Sunderland) to do mine and the wheel size made no difference to the cost. That was a wheels off, hire wheels for a week then tyres refitted, balanced and wheels refitted job.

Wheels came back like new, faultless. I had smoked silver so the inner part is darker than the outside if that makes sense.

I had a go a doing my winter wheels refurb DIY style. Spent about £45 on materials, 3 days hard graft and they turned out total and utter rubbish! lol

1 - they will do whatever YOU tell em to do
2 - as above - its up to you
3 - c£100 per wheel for a decent job incl removal/refitting of tyres and your rusty old weights

Find a good wheel centre and tell them that you want the centres colour matched, this should not be a problem!

I've just had mine done and had them (1st Class Alloys in Lichfield) colour match the fuel cap & surround as well, and it looks superb! smile

I always find if your clear and let your expectations be clearly known from the start there is little room for disappointment later, they are not mind readers!!!

Had both my sets done recently.

1st set at Lepsons http://www.lepsons.com/
Great service and quality job.
Wheels were painted black with polished rim.
Centre caps were painted and insides were also painted black.

2nd set done by Chris at http://www.exelwheels.co.uk/
Exel is different in that they take your wheels away and loan you a set while yours are done.
Chris is a top bloke and actually uses Lepsons for the work.
Wheels were painted black with a chrome painted rim.

1st set cost £400 and 2nd £700, just depends on how much hassle you want and the type of finish but I'm sure they'll do what ever you want.

Thanks for all your replies so far.

last question, are the 18inch 5 spoke wheels that come on the facelift carrera 2/4 painted or painted and polished ? as they are grey inside and silver on the face.

The only ones that are polished are the turbo alloys with the 3 slits in each spoke.

I had mine done at Lepsons too, somewhere in the region of £400 IIRC.

I had purchased some flea-bay centre caps in black as I intend to revert to silver at some point in the future. They were replica caps and Lepsons very quickly pointed out that the didn't fit quite right. So they sprayed the centre caps for me.

I am really pleased with the finish on the wheels and they are based in Kent also.

Mobile guys are ok if you just want to tart your wheels up but they dont last and mark to easy.
