Optimate mates?

A query about Optimate - any advice please mates.

I had a new battery last year and the car is always plugged in when it's in the garage. Usually no probs. However, after the last couple of outings I've noticed that when I plug it in the Optimate shows as desulphating. After a few hours it reverts to the normal maintain status. I thought it would only need to do the desulphate thing if the battery is deeply discharged.

Any clues?

Perhaps the alternator isn't charging the battery & it's discharging on your runs?

Alternator is making electricity so perhaps the place to look is the infamous 100A fuse. Thanks for the pointer.
