Hi I'm thinking of driving to Le Mans Classic this year it will be my first time, looking for some info on the campsites don't fancy getting things robbed(from what we've read)when we are at the track or does this generally only happen on the Sunday night, anyone had experience of camping at the circuit.

we are doing the classic this time as done the 24hr a few times now, seems that classic is less chavvy.
we camp off circuit and it is cheap where as circuit camping is expensive. thefts are not even a thing where we camp.

Staying on Karting Nord with 4 Tivs and a BM. first time to classic but have done le mans previously staying on Houx. Get to know the people around you. The security normally leaves Sunday after the race to do traffic duty, so normally fine dinning at the tent that evening, watching all the cars trying to leave!

The classic is a totally different affair to the 24 hour - different crowd & much less likely to have a security issue from the attendees.

In fact theres usually a good camaraderie & folks look out for one anothers belongings.

Always wise to takeout insurance as covers you for all eventualities with travel, theft etc

Chim is a great car to take perfect for roads from coast to Le Mans and a tour after if you have time - enjoy

Try this link to the TVRCC Hampshire forum. There are a few of us going( about 50 ) with SpeedChills who arrange camping, Food , Hot clean showers and Toilets. As well as 24hr British security.

This will be my second time to the classic in the Chimaera.
See you there
Steve

I've used Travel Destinations for the last few years at the main Le Mans and have never had any problems with the tickets coming through and the costs are as fair and reasonable as all the other companies. Nice people to work with thumbup

On the security thing, just remember not to take anything you don't need. Don't take expensive electronics or watches etc and just take care with valuables that you do need to take. Keep car keys and money on you and lock anything else in the car. The sites are secure until Sunday afternoon but just take care with your own stuff, it's not a crime hot-spot as long as you use common sense... Oh and have a bloomin' good time as it's petrolhead heaven smile

Staying at Camping bleu this year, travelling thru the tunnel 5 up in two cars. Not taking the TIV, not enough room for our creature comforts. Got our tickets from Just Tickets. Enjoy fellas!
