I genuinly didn't think i was that bad until the better half started pointing it out, I love driving - no matter what car it is or how slow or bad it is i love it, In fact i've been out of the performance car market for a few years now and drive a wallowy old sensible barge but still i go for a drive in a sprited manner when i get chance. i love it and never tire of it.

Last summer i was tootling down the road when walking up the street was a 20 something girl, short skirt, legs up to her armpits - Stunning, I had the OH in the car when i piped up 'Kin hell look at that' I was however referring to the 430 Scud that had blasted past on the opposite side of the road and didn't give the girl a second glance, The missus exclaimed 'You really are a sad bd'

The amount of times we've been in the car on the motorway when i've spotted something in the mirror, quickly wacked the radio off and put down the window even on a winters day just so i cant listen to the howl of some Flat 6 V8/V10/V12 exotica when it roars past.

To the relief of the missus she says she'd rather have me talk about bhp figures and handling characteristics of a 911 in the pub whilst boring my pals silly than getting drunk out of my mind and chasing the loacl fat slappers.

I still get excited like a 10 year old when i see a supercar on the road, My missus gave me a bking in Manchester city centre when i started jumping up and down when i saw a Veyron as she thought something was up with me.

Thing is saddest of all i'm not even 18 i'm the wrong side of 30.

Do i need to grow up or carry on regardless?

Does anyone have traits of sadness like this and if so what?

Guilty.

OH has actually commented thus:

"with a normal bloke, I'd be worried at you perving on the lasses wearing short skirts etc..... With you I know you're slating the car she's driving or admiring her fellas nice choice in wheels. Sad bd. But I like it........"

Apparently it is sad to spend at least 30 minutes everyday looking at classified car ads

Definately.

Even 50cc scooters get listened to. The only thing that won't is those silly loud piped cars. At least the biker has a safety reason to do it... (Small chance of being heard.)

Does anybody else cross the street to admire a scooter?

If you get very excited by the cars, then that's great carry on as normal.

If you were literally jumping up and down in the street then no, stop being an affected mong and sort yourself out.

There was a thread on here a while back about someone reading the tyre sidewalls of parked cars that he walked past, just out of interest.

I thought: "you sad bd"

...but now I've started doing it.

We're all here for the same reason, you're perfectly normal smile

Don't worry. When you reach 40-50, your eyes will be back on the short skirt and beaches will seem like nudist colonies...

Sounds normal. I've been told off to mentioning cars that have just gone past because I don't tell her or jake quick enough for them to see.

"oooh ferrari just went past"
"where?!!!!"

doh!

I'm 24 and get the same.

My reasoning is that I already have a rather attractive OH (IMHO so why look else where 24/7?) and my car collection is somewhat lacking due to funding, so cars are the "want" items. yes

Always room for more cars in your life. Multiple women just ends badly.

Dogs. Good food. Random cars. - 3 things that make me happy smile

I've given up counting the number of times my OH has hit me with the SB label.
Every time I change down and get the pops and bangs from the old TVR gets her going.

I'm a really bad car geek. My middle management co-workers in their company Audis are totally confused by my car tinkerings and lust for retro metal, they think I'm a head case.
