Petrol pump goes to £25.01p every time!

I know there’s a similar thread about the Pumps clocking the 1p on after you stop filling, but mines different somewhat.
The Tesco fuel station i use fairly often seems incapable of stopping at £25. Each time i’ve filled up there since before xmas its always £25.01p. i have mastered the art lately of getting the readout to increase by the penny until it hits £25.
It goes 24.95-96-97-98-99 - 25.01 it never stops on 25!!!
I have thought i’m giving it too much pressure the closer it gets, but every other station i use i get £25 (sometimes i do go over, but that’s always my fault for not noticing how quickly its filling)
I even mentioned it to the attendant, he seemed less than bothered and simply shrugged, not a word left his mouth in any way of an explanation or a ‘i’ll let my boss know your comments’.
I’ve asked a few mates and it happens to them too so clearly it isn’t just me being a moron!

1) Why do you fill up to 'whole amounts'?
2) Does it not annoy you that as petrol prices increase, you being stuck in your routine of only filling up £25 worth of fuel just leads to more trips to the station?
3) Fill it till it clicks. Just the once, though.
4) Put £24.99 in, then you won't need to consult with the internet

It's annoying with courtesy cars if you want to put a five or ten pounds in and you don't have any change.
Our village garage don't bother about the odd penny but I asked why they don't have the penny dish anymore and they said Trading Standards had told them to take it away - some issue with duty?

and depends how long the fuel will last as it degrades over time. I always filled right up because i knew i would use a tank a week but since having a shorter commute it would take me 3 weeks to use a full tank so i just go 30 quid now, still seems to last forever though! It used to be a lot easier to hit whole numbers when petrol was cheaper. I should know - I used to be a pump-monkey when it was 50p a litre. Now a penny comes around almost 3 times quicker.

saving for a wedding and not being a Company Director means i live to a budget, and that budget only allows for £25 worth of fuel a week, which is sufficient for the weeks motoring needs. I’ve compared it to filling up ‘till it clicks’ and doing it my way saves a few quid a month, which adds up over time.
last full tank was close to £70, 70x2 =140
140x2 (mine and her car filled) = £280 as opposed to 25x4 = 100, so 25 a week in mine and the mrs car =£200 over the month. £80 saved.

k are you on about?You drive the same distance each week, no?! £70 should last you 2.8 weeks.

Gotta be a troll post You do the same miles every month, it will cost the same whether you fill up once a month or partial fills once a week..
