FFS when you following a slow heavy goods vechical would you please leave room for others to overtake you one at a time rather than the poor sod following this caravan trail to Lands end having to pass all you wkers at break neck speeds. I would also like to point out blowing your horn and shaking your fist at some one who has done a perfectly safe and legal overtake does nogthing for the harmony of our conjested roads. wavey leave room you knob heads or fking stay at home or catch a fking bus .

ps: I know this is a very poor rant, apologies

I share your view. However, I think you're wasting your time as the target audience is simply too thick to know how to open a thread to read it.

This.

I am forced to buy increasingly quicker cars to overtake the increasingly long line for dip sts who are incapable of overtaking.

Last week it was 4 people who were too scared ot overtake a moped doing 30...

It's getting worse!

Can't you see that the driver of the 100 ton plus heavy load will be scared into doubling his speed by the threat of being rammed by a 2 ton mostly plastic and lard audi

People refusing to overtake cyclists is the most annoying. Being a cyclist at times there's nothing worse than a car on your ass refusing to overtake, I have been known to shout at them for it. The time needed to get past a pushbike is milliseconds, so if a car is 500 yards in the distance, you can make it YOU PLUM!

I live just off the A1, so I experience this all the time. I know I've probably re-entered the inside lane within their braking zone, but look - I'm not going to brake, I'm going to accelerate away from you. No need to switch on enough lights to set fire to things, sound your horn and shake your fist.

It's bad enough with the hippo racers. Everyone else is making progress at 70 at rush hour, then one truck pulls out to overtake another one. Both are limited to 56mph. They end up backing everyone up for a mile or so while one pulls out a lead on the other, and then what - they just return to the same lane to carry on doing 56mph. What was the point in that when the traffic is actually flowing quite well at a time when it might otherwise be badly congested?

I must admit to that being very annoying

One vehicle is so close to the one in front but has no intention or skill to overtake it but causes everyone else to follow because there is no room to 'leap frog'

The one set who do leave room is the army convoys

That's an excellent excuse. I shall use that next time I need to justify another unnecessarily powerful car purchase to my wife.

Got you beat there although I didn't make an accurate count, I think it was upwards of 30 on the A66 westbound towards Cockermouth and that was in a Nova too smile All going at 25mph behind a couple of tractors with trailers. Ah, the good old days when you could overtake like a retard and nobody cared.

It's situations such as these that put me off selling the v6 petrol for a 1.9tdi.

I just know i wouldnt make half of the overtakes i do in a derv wagon.
