So, following on from my 'what have I done to my hand' thread about five months ago I had my last follow up appointment today. It is agreed that I have broken the bone of my little finger at the ase where it meets my wrist and dislocated it so it is sticking up. Mthe two courses of action is, 1) live with it, or 2) fuse the bone together with screws and a plae and maybe a bit of a bone graft.

After living with it for six months nearly, I am not prepared to live with it anymore. The dull constant ache is ok, it's te pain in te morning, picking my little girl up, putting my hand in my pocket, writing, shaking hands, waving etc etc.... That has made my mind up and go with the op.

I have been told that tere'll be six weeks recovery and a slight restriction in movement of the little finger. Has anyone ad this done? What can I expect?
