What have I removed from the bottom of my car?

NB, 10th AE. There is a lot of snow and ice here at the moment. In some places it has got very large holes. It appears I have removed part of the underside of the car on one of these. Is it just the undertray or something worse? Front of the car to the right and it's under the engine, if that helps.

Looks like an engine shield. As well as the plastic under-tray they have a thin metal shield which protects the catalyst from the worst of the elements. It looks like it's just peeled that back a bit. You can probably remove, reshape and refit it.
