DB9 boot leaking
Discussion
Just as I thought all the problems with it had been fixed, I went out to remove fuse 22 (I leave it in for when it's sat for a while) and was greeted by the fusebox surrounded by an inch of water. f
king brilliant. So after a profuse amount of swearing, I decided it probably wouldn't be best to take it for a run now, so it's ticking over to charge the battery.

Is this a common thing? I presume it's a warranty job too?
Does anyone know what the cause of it is, broken seals etc?
At least this explains all the condensation on the inside of my car

Cheers, sounds like it's a fairly common problem in the V8V, so I presume the DB9 too.
I managed to get all the water out with a wet-vac, just need to get it dried out now, then I can ring the warranty people in the morning. Just hoping the battery doesn't die, but I'm a bit nervous about taking it for a run in case it breaks down or something.

My Vantage had a leaky boot also recently... The leak was found to be leaking through the small rear light over the boot switch.
I was a little lazy in getting it sorted, and despite drying it out and leaving bath towels in the boot rather then the liner it began to get a little tiring after every downpour. The rear left brake light began to be intermittent and then the boot switch started to go, all related to the leak... Lesson learnt ! get it sorted ASAP and get your dry boot back.
Also went and bought a cover for the winter :-)

Mine was under a cover, but it's rained every day for the past few weeks which isn't exactly helping. I'm not sure where it's leaking, but the majority of the water was in the left hand side, in the pocket where the fusebox is located. The carpet in the middle was a bit damp, and it was bone dry at the right hand side. There is what sort of looks like a vent behind the carpet, sort of behind the light. It was pitch black so I was looking with a torch, I will have a better look in the morning. The interior of the car was all full of condensation which is worrying. I'm just hoping it isn't leaking anywhere else. Hopefully it will be a nice dry day again tomorrow and I can leave all the windows/boot open and it will dry out

joking apart the water in the boot will cause the condensation. You need to get it sorted asap as your car is left outside it will very quickly start to smell if you don't stop the leak.
hope you get it sorted
BTW I have had a fantastic Friday 13th,but knowing that probably doesn't help you.

I've been considering sticking it in my mate's garage, with the roof down and boot open, and a few de-humidifiers in there. Hopefully that should help it dry out asap.hope you get it sorted

FFS Georgeous, I better go and open a nice Bordeaux before getting into this one.
Hope all this kerfuffle hasn't damaged that ice sculpture you were keeping for me in the boot.
Back in a mo
Funnily enough, I just cracked open a bottle of Carta Roja gran reserva 2005 (is it good or bad, I have no idea about wine btw) that I won in a raffle a few weeks back. I certainly needed a drink Hope all this kerfuffle hasn't damaged that ice sculpture you were keeping for me in the boot.

I'll send you the ice sculpture in the post, it's currently being stored in a bucket in the garage

+1
Now topping it off with a 1999 Chateau Segonnes Margaux.
I'm glad none of the V8V ruffians have mentioned the possibility of it being 'wee' in the car. Phew.
Everything you are experiencing will be fixed under warranty and - if you liaise with Burntout - you could end up with a stealth edition DB9 Volante.
And a tattoo on your forehead

Had a similar issue with condensation and then moukd in the car . Dealer couldn't find fault but my Valeter decided to use a jet wash and pressure test everywhere. Water ingress through rear screen coming in at the top of the glass and tracking down either side . Had it re fitted twice to cure it. My car is an 09my car . Hope you get it sorted.

All fixed now. Turns out it was something to do with the central brake light on a volante not fitting correctly. I'm guessing it only came to light recently due to the 3 weeks of non-stop rain we had.
Time to put your feet up, relax and crack open another bottle of vino then!!!

As much as I'd like to, I don't think they would see it that way at work

I'd be sending the outside cover back too
I've checked that, absolutely nothing wrong with it that I can find. Not leaking at all, the only thing I can think of is that it's lifted it up with the wind (was very windy whilst it was raining), and that is what's caused it. I had that problem a couple of times before, what it really needs is a strap running the length of the cover, instead it has one in the middle across the width of the car, and elastic at the front and back.

To be honest George, if it can lift off the body in the wind, it's not really fit for purpose..... It's an outside cove, therefore it should be designed to stay in place whilst fitted to a car outside...wind or no windI certainly wouldn't be happy about that, plus if it's moving about, it has the potential to scratch the paintwork, again not good..
