I've done End of the Road the past two years but I might give it a miss this year. I'd love to do their new sister festival, No Direction Home near Nottingham but I can't see it happening. Will definitely do The Greenman for the first time.

Also going to Hard Rock Calling on the Saturday to see Springsteen but that can't be considered a festival imho.

Yes, hat-trick appearance this coming year. It ought to have been the 4th but I ducked out the first year the opportunity presented itself.
I don't do camping (nor do the chaps I go with) so ,thankfully, hotel it is and the same one every time. The more seasoned amongst us have managed double or more my appearance tally and seem to have an understanding with the hotel manager/owner that means no worries about getting a reservation as long as sufficient notice is given & deposit paid when required. It's a fairly basic place but in the town itself and has everything any of us really need - i.e. bed, shower & bar.

TBH, the heat means you can pretty much sleep anywhere. I don't know if there's anything by way of somewhere secure to store kit/valuables but if there is, you're as well going all night and then going to the beach armed with a pillow and some SPF30. The hotel we use doesn't have a pool but does have a bit of an open garden with some tree cover and lots of people just take up residence and sleep it off.

It might be busy this year with no Glasto and an appearance by the Stone Roses - flight cost seemed to go up quite a bit between when it was first mooted at my end (pre any bands being announced) and when we actually committed, which was after the Roses announcement. That will obviously affect ticket and accommodation availability as well.

I've been to 10 Reading festivals in the last 11 years, so don't want to break the habit of a life time, wink

Usually end up going to at least another couple of festivals too. May try to get to a much smaller one again!

Another one for Bloodstock. Maybe do another when line ups are confirmed.
