10 years of ownership
Discussion
Just thought I would mark it with a positive post!
I purchased P986 LOB (now N** TVR) a Yellow 4.0 Chimaera from PH member 'ALT' 10 years ago this week and I am happy to say I have had no reliability issues (touches wood!). The car has been serviced regularly and used most weekends, as its not my main car. I've been abroad in it a few times (Le Mans etc) and completed a few track days each year and it's still not missed a beat. I know it's only a 4.0 but as things wear out and funds allow I am upgrading them, so far Suspension and a sports exhaust conversion have been added. As funds allow I will also look to do a full body up restoration as this ones a keeper!
Just wanted to try and redress the balance around reliability and that it's not all bad!
I have loved every minute of ownership and the noise is still so addictive!

Cheers,
Jon
PS I have kept a PH blog for the past 10 years if anyone is thinking of buying one wants to get an idea of real world costs!

Had my Chim500 for 11 years (almost 12 I think) and I also have never had a breakdown. Things have of course gone wrong occassionally, but nothing serious and I have never been stranded at the side of the road or unable to drive home or to a garage.
I think thats pretty good for any car of any make, let alone a high performance sports car and indeed a make of car that everyone who doesn't own one, seems to think is the most unrelable thing ever lol...

love the fact you posted N**TVR and then included a pic showing the reg anyway.....
Well spotted !
Yes I added the pics after the txt, TBH we all drive our cars with plates on, and slightly less paranoid than others also to clone it you need another yellow TVR and as I attended a few yellow only meets its suprising how few there are

Cheers Jon

Hi Jon, glad to hear she's still going well and putting a smile on your face. It's still a great colour!
My Tamora's 10 years old next week so thanks for reminding me to book the MOT!
Cheers... Andrew
I think you'll find that you should have had it MOT'd when it was 3 years old, not 10. My Tamora's 10 years old next week so thanks for reminding me to book the MOT!
Cheers... Andrew
