Since there have been posts for damp and smell from doors and trunk/boot from water ingress to the vehicle. I posted on another thread the I found a dehumidifier pouches or silica packs which absorbs damp smells a great solution. The more aggressive solution would be a rechargeable dehumidifier as below

Good luck

Go for a long drive. Let the engine heat dry the car out. Sorted

No chance if the carpets are wet, it will take considerably longer than that. Condensation on the inside of the car this time of the year will occur for some time but if that's your solution good luck.

Basically any moisture in the boot is absorbed into a membrane of the device if you are using the rechargeable unit, the mains recharge will dry the membrane or if you are using a silica pack this will again absorb the moisture but require drying out on a say a radiator indoors or in if an approved type of pack in a microwave. I should add the packs can absorb considerable amount of moisture. If you have two packs then leave one in situ a swap every couple of days. With the rechargeable unit you can leave running subject to the battery runs low until you need to recharge the unit.
