Hi Guys
First of all I guess I should apologise as this is a 'what lens?' thread and I guess these are quite common but after a quick forum search and read of the what lens wiki I couldn't find what I was looking for.
I have been going to the TT for the past few years with my dad and love taking pics of the bikes tearing past at 160/170/180mph+, which I have been doing with a standard camera ( this was one of the main reasons for me getting an SLR ( Nikon D5100 ) very recently! ).
Anyways the TT is back round in June so I thought now would be a good time to start saving for an additional lens to add to the one I got with the camera ( 18-55mm 3.5/5.6 ). As I am very new to this I was hoping for some advice as to what I should aim for.
My budget will probably be around the £300, but if there are lenses that are well worth an extra £50/100 over the ones in my price bracket I will obviously stretch for a benefit in quality. I also go to circuit races and the Nurburgring so ideally the lens will be able to get pics of cars and bikes at spectator distances for these types of venues too.
I'm assuming I'll need something that's fast, and has a half decent zoom?... although at some points your sat that close to the action zoom isn't an issue!
I'd really appreciate if you could help me out with some options, or even tell me if my budget is a bit unrealistic to get something decent. Id definitely consider second hand if it helps.
