Whats the timing set at on a 93 Chimaera 4.0? Thanks in advance

28 degrees at 4000 RPM .. Vacuum off.

I actually started at about 10 degrees at tick over vacuum off , easier to do than with the engine screaming.

Right tried that, but it doesnt seem to happy.. can anyone else confirm those settings please?

Have you checked TDC as in ignore the ambiguous timing marks on the pulley. My 4lt was out by about 8deg when i checked TDC.
Get a spare plug drill out the electrode and put a long bolt in.
Remove all the other spark plugs and turn the engine over slowly until it stops, mark pulley, turn in opposite direction until it stops again and mark pulley and the distance in between is TDC use that as your start point...!

I set mine to about 28deg advanced at 4k revs and it ran sweet.
Although now i am ripping everything off and going down MS and edis route.
