I was having what appeared to be a relay issue with the headlamps on my 280i. The driver's side pod would open and close, and open and close, and... And all this with some force. Swapping relays stopped this. Interesting that the three headlamp relays are electrically the same, but two are Lucas and one is Bosch. I placed the Bosch in the headlamp control socket and the headlamps work fine now.

Anyway, I've lost the "up" stop on the pod. I'm sure it got pounded out with the up and down thing. Anyone have one of these sitting around they'd want to get rid of or have an good, well thought out alternative. These stops are the cheapest, cheesiest things. I would pull the other one to try to reproduce, or re-engineer it, but I need the car on the road right now.

Thanks!

Hi Mate..Im not sure if the ones at the bottom are the stops for the top as one of mine snapped off when i tried adjusting it..I was thinking of using an "L" bracket with some hose screwed to it but the fixing in place looks a bit naff so i didnt bother!!..Another job for another day!!...Cheers..Ziga

Funny you should say that Zig, because one side in my wedge is indeed a small shelf bracket bent to an odd angle, with a bit of heater hose fastened to it....it works though !

My headlights also have the L bracket with a piece of heater hose screw to it, has adjustment as well. Simple yet effective. Got to love TVR haven't you.

Yes they were very innovative..Is there just one at the bottom that acts as a stop and a rest?..If so i think i will get myself a couple of "L" brackets and some hose and set about replacing mine...Cheers..Ziga

Innovative. Yeah, that's it wink These things consist of a metal plate with two threaded studs welded to it, and on to this plate is afixed a piece of heater hose. Over the studs is placed another metal plate. The pod GRP gets sandwiched between the two plates.

Any even have a picture of one?
