Hi all I would love to go on a track day and am looking for advice on a car am only 23 ATM so haven't got loads of cash but could I have some good fun for around a grand. I wouldn't be using it as my road car as already have one thanks.

Seriously, it is a good answer. Tight on that budget though. All that would do is buy you a basic car. It's not a cheap hobby but an MX-5 is about the cheapest way to do it.
It's a shame there isn't a low cost 2 seater, you know a more modern version of the British sports cars of the 1960's and 70's. Something with Japanese engineering with a revy 4 pot. Something easy to work on a cheap to run.
