Looking for this item for 996 turbo.

In local opc yesterday and saw the sheets they use to cover new cars pre-delivery. So asked for a price. They are custom for each model (although they look like a large sheet that would fit any car!).

Price quoted was 254+vat.

Anyone have any ideas of something similar? Or is it worth going for the genuine porsche item?

The thing I like about it is that it seems easy enough to throw over the car, no elastic to get hung up about trying to get in right place, and the material seems like it will be sympathetic to the car.

Any advice appreciated...

I bought one of these for £250 inc vat from Tonbridge OPC last year.
And it was lovely , I only wish I had bought it sooner, I wll be getting a cover as soon as I get my new car.

To be honest I wouldn't bother. I have had various expensive custom made car covers over the years. All I use now are white cotton sheets. Cheap to buy, easy to wash, easy to put on, you can do the car in stages and also much easier to fit if space is tight, say in a single garage.

This is what attracted me to the Porsche one....it is effectively like a cotton sheet - no fitting required - more of a throw over - bit pricey for a sheet though...will look into the other options mentioned.
Thanks

I've got the silver tailored Porsche cover on my 996 turbo and its a lot more snug than the classic additions fleece type I had on my previous C4S, the latter was thicker material too

I use the OEM indoor cover and it quite nice. Classy color, snug fit, soft and shiny fabric, Porsche Logo and GT2 text on the front. What else would I want?

PCT at Coventry had an offer on before Crimbo & the covers were very similar to OPC ones but well under £200 & had the badge/logo etc & the same fitting. My OPC is also pretty good on discounts so it might be worth being cheeky to your local one? wink

I got a tailored Turbo Porsche OEM indoor cover from the Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfield for £210

That was about 18 months ago so they may have gone up a little since then
