They're lovely.

How much were the wheels + tyres? Are they the official Porsche winter ones?

I just saw the same wheels on a base Gen 2 997 just a few minutes ago and even commented that I had not seen such wheels on a 997 before.

At a glance they look like 18"s?

Can't say I loved the look... Are these what Porsche reccomends as a winter wheel for the 997?

I have the same winter wheels on my 4 GTS and can confirm they are the 18" standard wheels from the 997 C2. OPC recommended and I paid £2,300 with Nokian winter tyres fitted. So far so good, am more than happy. CMD

Gotcha.

Out of curiosity, do the OPC store your summer wheels and vice versa the winter ones in summer? This is standard service in places like Germany but wondered how its handled in UK. Apparently BMW say on their website that they do.

OPC Colchester provide storage for a price - my summer set is with them right now. I couldn't say if that's a standard service across the network, but I would expect so.

Just had an email from Cardiff OPC promoting the benefits of winter tyres, but I'm already a convert and have had mine on since late November.

as mentioned these are "Carrera IV" wheels of a 997.2 C2, not sure where the IV bit comes in.. well there is 4 of them i suppose. I guess i can't win with half of you lot, you don't like my black wheels, you don't like my silver wheels, lol which wheels do you like? seriously though i think they look good, anoyingly they car drives a lot nice on them too, how much that id down to them being 18" or Pirellis vs Michelin i dunno confused

I bought these second hand and ironically they have summer tyres on(i said winter wheels not winter tyres! wink) only just but them on as i've given up trying to sell the damjn thing, looking forward to wearing them out on the track days this year biggrin

oh i got a email yesterday from Leicester OPC stating they were doing winter wheel/tyre packages for £1500 inc VAT - so it they are the same wheels i'd say thats a bit of a bargain.. then i enquired at Nottingham last year they were well over £2k!

Yeah, the catch is that they're from £150. If you want 19" it could cost you over £3k.

Are the OPC winter tyres N rated? Would be rather ironic if not and blow their BS "matching N ratings or no warranty" out of the water?

Edit to add - just been on the Boxster configurator and they look exactly like the new, standard Boxster S wheels to me?

But what's the point in having 19" winter rims? There's more choice of 18" winter rubber and it's better too.
