Just been to look at a couple of Spyders today and was very disappointed with the quality of the interior, especially the dashboard. Do they all come with the cheapo-looking vinyl covering the dash/doors or is leather an option on some cars. There were also a couple of Cayman Rs in there and they were the same, so maybe it's the "lightweight" finish rolleyes

Mine is full leather dash, doors, central console all double stiched.

Prob the only one, or one of the rare one's with it, sort of makes you feel it's worth the money lol
When I was looking for a GT3 very few had leather but they look so much better with it and on the GT3 should be standard other wise they do look cheap.
on the Spyder would take it or leave it, just bought one and it was not listed as full leather, so was a nice suprise.
Cannot see it adding more than 1.5 kg's so a good st in the morning will get that back.

Very expensive option though.

Thanks David - looks great. I've had 3 Porsche previously and I've always had it (and always will!) - looks a bit Seat Ibiza without wink

The full leather interiors always look better than the standard kit. When I specced my Cayman S I got the full leather and then specced all the other bits to leather too so there isn't any plastic.

Specced full leather on my spyder, plus alcantara extra package (just adds it on the door panel and armrests, rather than steering wheel and gearknob).

Love the combo together, and so pleased I went for it. I think it does lift the cabin and feel of quality.

I was quite frankly shocked at the look of the non leather interior. I do believe the leather dash should be standard on this level of car these days.

I only wish now though, that I had specced leather sun visors. Can live without, but the standard ones feel horrible and they are always close to your eye line.

What colour is your interior? you can buy them fairly cheaply from places like Suncoast as long as you don't need contrast stitch

On the one hand, thanks for that site. On the other hand, it could turn out being expensive knowing about the site. Carbonfibre mirrors, lightweight battery.... yum!

Leather here as well. Also Alcantara wheel and door cards.
First Spyder was poverty spec and the better interior and additional toys (Nav,Bluetooth etc.) made buying the same car again a better decision.

I would likde the Cayman R steering wheel though.
A much nicer unit than the Spyders.

Depends which version you want to go for. The alacantara one is about £1300 but then what did you pay for the car? 50k? 1300 is peanuts

I find the sport design wheel a bit too glitzy looking.

Actually prefer the simple black, buttonless wheel.

Only other wheel that I think is stunning is in a 458. Actually surprises me how wrong some makers get this main point of contact. Always thought Aston Martin steering wheels look so clunky.
