Hi guys,
I recently bought a house with a pond in the garden with (what I think are) carp of some sort. Previous owner has moved to Canada, don't have a number for them.
Frankly, I haven't got the first idea of how to look after them and I think it's best they are moved onto someone who has the knowledge and passion to look after them. One died last week and I think another is dead, so I think it's a bit cruel to keep them when I'm clearly doing something wrong.
So how does one go about selling fish? I asked at the nearest pet shop and the girl on the counter didn't know.
Cheers!

Stick them on here with some details:

I put a tank on there and it sold within 15 minutes.

Ring your local pond centre or fish stockist too if you just want to get rid of them. They'll often pick them up for free or give you a few pounds if they're good specimens.
You're lucky it's pond fish, somebody rang me yesterday asking for help with rehoming 600 garra rufa (the foot nibbling fish)!!

If the fish are dying the last thing you should be doing is selling them or moving them to another pond. the risk of spreading disease or parasites is immense. they should not be moved under any circumstances unless you know they are completely free of disease of parasites... or unless they are moved to a 'quarantine system' where they can be monitored and treated accordingly. at this time of year there is a good chance they are just dying from the cold, especially if they were in less than peak condition before the winter.
how big are the fish?
how deep is the pond?
when was the filter last cleaned?
where are you?
pictures if possible please
eta- it is fairly likely that the fish are of little or no value judging by the fact the previous owner just left them behind. Koi can be very valuable indeed (have a look at this one http://www.koi.jpn.com/taisho_sanke_178.html?frm_d... )but only if they have the right pedigree. the very large majority in UK ponds are low quality 'garden centre' fish spawned in the UK or israel.
