I've always fancied a beemer but am not sure I could bring myself to own one. Too many aggressive people driving them. ditto any new Audi and most mercs. So that rules out the premium german brands. Vauxhalls and Fords are ok when new but soon move into chav territory. VWs, sadly are going that way...or in the case of my current car a Passat, give off a boring vibe.

I currently like the Mazda 6 2.2 diesel, new shape. Mazdas dont appear to have a bad image, or do they?? Are any brands out there unsullied or does it even really matter?

Mazdas have a rubbish image - they are only driven by people pre-occupied with image. Hateful, hateful people.

Grow up OP. Buy what you like, and stop worrying about trivial stuff rolleyes

I'm single handedly trying to change opinions of bmw drivers but it's not going well so far.

Wow you must be really really insecure to care that much about what other people think about you. Quite sad really.

All brands have some owners who act like cocks. Buy the car that you like and sod what image it gives off.

mazda have no image which is worse than being chavy

they dump money ultra fast, great if your buying a lightly used one, not if your buying a new one

why should image matter? Get whatever you feel like getting. that 'image' is only seen by people you don't know (and probably won't give a damn about), so why make your choice based on people who don't know you?

I suppose the mainstream Mazda's dont have a negative image, they dont have image, decent enough cars but totally anonymous.

Get a BMW X6 in white, but do some voluntary work to make up for the image.

Get a fking BMW, you'll have a properly engineered car that drives well and will last forever. Who gives a st what someone else thinks of the brand? Of the brand FFS, not even the products!

I allways thought Saab had a good image. Shame they don't make them anymore.

The people who have an opinion, have an opinion that is irrelevant.

I bought my bmw because no other car competes with it for the price.

Looks like you need to buy a Alfa Romeo, some cock once said you cannot be a petrolhead if you've never owned one.
The only negativity you will need to worry about is the equity.
Glad to be in the non petrolhead category if that is the criteria.getmecoat

Volvo seem to have risen out of their 'grandad' status slightly and I reckon are now quite happily in the middle ground. Certainly nothing negative or offensive about them. The V70 is a true everyman's car in my books.

I own a Mazda and a BMW. I drive the MX5 like I stole it and the Beemer like a chauffeur.
