Hello, new to the Tuscan area... I made a vague attempt of searching the forum first but using a mobile phone and not much signal didn't make that easy so apologies if the answer is in another thread.

The OH and I are on the verge of buying a house with a double garage (two single doors though). The plan is once we've purchased the house we'll be on the lookout for a Tuscan smile. The issue being the garage door width - how small is too small when it comes to fitting the car in? I've had a look and got some width dimensions from Wikipedia but does this include mirrors? The garage door is about 7 foot wide.

Another naive/ignorant question - if the car is too wide can the mirrors be folded in?

With a bit of luck I shall look forward to posting pictures of the Tuscan in the not too distant future!

Pretty sure you'll be fine.

I have a similar set up and get the car in well.

Bear in mind its easy to knock out the central pillar, put in a larger lintel and then put in a double door. An electric double is about £1300 from last time i looked, lintel about £500 and then some labour so if you had to get someone in maybe £2500 tops.

Its something i would love to do but have a list as long as my arm of other jobs/things to buy which are 'only a couple of grand' hehe so i might be waiting a while.

Where about in Warwickshire are you? If close enough, when I'm passing, I could stop and try it for size!

Once you've seen one in situ, nothing will stop that purchase!!

Width 1810mm inc. mirrors.

I have two single garages with the dividing wall removed, but I retained the original doors. No problem with access, but with the wall out gives a bit more room to open the door, even with a car in either side.

I live in a 'new build' property with standard size single garage - it fits with plenty of room. I have 1.5 ft one side of the car to get in and out the garage and at least 3 ft at the end of the garage for 'garage stuff'.....

Thanks for all the replies. Now we know a Tuscan will fit we can proceed a bit further! smile Glad to hear there will be ample room to get in and out of it too.

The new place is just to the West of Coventry and I would love to take you up on the offer but the house exists with no garage at the moment. The planning permission and building is being dealt with by the seller so there might be a chance to influence the two singles or a double door decision.

I think seeing a Tuscan in the garage would probably knock the house deposit down a bit... Probably getting a bit too excited and ahead of myself, house first and Tuscan after frown
