It is a fine road indeed. Beware of the decreasing radius right hander before the long straight going toward baldock.
Seen so many cars in the field over the years. The best someone managed was in a Audi Coupe, made it about 50m into the field with several rolls, total right off, doors off, roof caved in etc. God knows how fast he must have been going.

I discovered this road a few months ago while at work (van man!) and I kept thinking "This has got to be over soon" and yet another set of awesome corners presented themselves. Fairly decent lines of sight as well, which is handy.
One time I got stuck behind someone doing 50, so I wound up to about 70, pulled out to pass them, and a pigeon slammed into my windscreen and left a nice film of brown all over the screen. Had to abort the overtake and apply liberal washer-jet. (That was on the big dip with a little bridge over a stream at the bottom, as you can see all the road for a few hundred metres, which makes it great to overtake).

B656 - Hitchin to Welwyn Garden City.
Hitchin to old Welwyn to be precise. Bit tricky to overtake for lots of it. Bit like the A507 at times, not quite so good. The journeys take in the Bedfordshire half of the A507 pretty much all of which can be done at the NSL (except for the roundabouts).

Just be careful - the BiB also know it's a great driving road and regularly put speed traps out.
Thats always worthwhile advice but I honestly have never seen any BiB activity on the Baldock - Buntingford stretch ever and its really right in my back yard, I'm on it all the time.Beds part is not interesting tbh and has several speed camera favourite locations.
