Hi guys only got back from PistonFest today, had a great time to the Wedge guys.Parked up next to Dexty and his good lady .
The problem i have is my lights have stopped popping up,there is no noise from the motors, is there a fuse or relay that could be causing the problem?
I did a donut or two, could i have caught a wire or earth strap?
Working away for afew day,but i can get to a PC to read this thread.

Steve - strongly recommend you look at Wedgepages - theres an excellent article there on how the Wedgelights work! If neither light is working first stop has to be the headlight control relay and fuse -on my SEAC the fuse is a 10amp second column from the left 2nd fuse from the bottom (but every wedge fuse board I've seen is different). I'd have to pull the relay board apart to work out which one it is but again the layout varies from car to car. If its neither of them check the dashboard switch. Also bear in mind that both motors have their own relay and fuse in addition to the above. The motors are also both earthed independently although the switch has a separate earth that could be the problem.

Hope this helps!

Steve: assuming you can get to the motors from underneath (you can on the earlier cars, dunno about the SEAC), turn the knob on the end of the motor anticlockwise. The pod should start to move. After a few turns the motor will suddenly kick in and pop the light up, then drop it again. If it doesn't, you'll find you can wind the pod all the way up by hand (it was designed like this in case of motor failure).
If the pod pops up and down as described, and you can see that the lights are lit when you turn them on, you've probably only lost one control voltage somewhere (try both pods to make sure they still work).
Try 'flashing' the main beams and see if the pods come up then. If they do, there's a feed from the lights switch to the pod control relay missing (it's not usually fused though).
Worst case scenario, as long as you can get the lights to come on, you can drive with the pods manually wound up (may knock a few mph off the top speed though... )

Steve,
If you going to wind the lights manual watch out for the motor kiking in if you leave the battery connected could hurt your fingers, allot!, disconnect the battery first, hope its just a fuze mate
