So I'm guessing you haven't bought one yet? Try General Gassing, threads about them there tend to get a pretty warm reception.

Why cover up those beautiful lines with a rubbish colour?! smile

Portofino Blue or Sprint Blue are best for the Coupe shape.

This was my last 20VT

I will have another at one point in the future, they really are lovely cars.

OP - just to let you know that one in your picture doesn't have original alloys and isn't black (it's ink black which is a very dark blue). The only proper black Coupe was the black used for the LE.

Have you tried some insurance quotes - they can be quite expensive for younger drivers as they are group 20.

Get yourself onto FCCUK forum, an absolute wealth of information there. Go for it, I loved the two I had.

Which version did you get? They have around 5/6 different engines you can choose from.

haven't bought it yet, i went to see one yesterday, you would not think it was designed over 15 years ago

this one was a 1999 2.0 20v, black, immaculate, the wheels were a bit scuffed but could be treated to a nice refurb

he was chancing his arm by asking £5200 though

Are you in the UK? If so that price is ridiculous, unless it's got anything less than 1000miles on the clock.

Unless you go for one of the run out limited editions, two bags gets a very decent everyday car, and three will get a fantastic low mile Turbo. No need to pay any more, outside of a limited circle these cars are not the easiest to sell - the owners club (which is well worth joining, and has a fantastic forum) is full of cars that have been advertised at strongish money for a long time. Even people with £1000 Turbos sometimes struggle to shift them, and consider breaking them - and you can't get much more performance for a grand than a Turbo 20v!

i thought it would be around 1500, as it had 80k on the clock and a good service history

i think he got the price out of the telephone directory

top book on a mint one is about 2500-3000

I had a 1995 16v NA and loved it. Handbrakes are a PITA, and interior trim quality is authentically Italian, but was direct to drive and fun. Fuel consumption on mine was a bit shocking - worse than the E46 330ci that preceded it, but overall I would recommend one.

Just a thought - Try a 16v as well as the later 20v as some reckon them to be a more 'pure' experience. Might even get classic insurance...
