I want to start adding some weights to my heavily cardio biased fitness regime. I have some weights so I’d thought about getting a weight bench mainly to do bench presses. Not having much idea what to look and a lack of local shops that sell such things I’d had a look at Argos but reading the reviews they all seem dinky and unsuited to a taller person.

I’m 6’4”. Don’t want to spend a fortune, doesn’t have to be something that neatly folds away as I have a spare room that already houses some gym equipment.

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers

avoid the cheaper ones, there uncomfy because the part where you lay has very little padding and is very thin, its not comfy if you are lifting over 50kilo, digs in a bit.

I have this critter and am very happy with it, very stable.

ETA Just seen you're tall like me so you'll like this because it has a long back support unlike a lot of others. Might be out of budget though.

Have a look on ebay. There's always loads on there and usually possible to pick them up for very little.

I bought a decent heavy duty bench which is adjustable, as most are. I wish I'd bought a flat bench. The split is exactly where the small of my back should be making contact. Really frustrating and limiting. irked
